DERMAL FILLER

Dermal fillers provide an effective solution for various medical and aesthetic concerns. They are particularly beneficial for restoring volume lost due to ageing, hormonal changes, or medical conditions. They support facial rejuvenation and balance by smoothing fine lines, softening sagging areas, and correcting asymmetry.

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances used to restore lost volume, smooth fine lines, and enhance facial contours. Made primarily from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a substance naturally found in the skin, fillers provide hydration and plumpness, delivering a youthful and refreshed appearance.

CHEEK FILLER

FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO CHEEK VOLUME LOSS

Natural Ageing: As we age, our body’s collagen and elastin production decreases, leading to a loss of volume and elasticity

Genetics: Genetic predisposition affects how quickly we lose facial volume or experience changes in bone structure and fat

Lifestyle Factors: Sun exposure, smoking, and diet can accelerate skin ageing, breaking down collagen causing volume loss.

Bone Density Reduction: Over time, we also experience changes in bone structure, particularly around the midface, which can impact cheek shape and prominence.

Fat Redistribution: As we age, the fat pads in our cheeks tend to shift and lose volume, resulting in a flatter or hollow appearance.

Cheek fillers are an excellent option for patients seeking mid-face rejuvenation to address the effects of volume loss, asymmetry, or changes in facial structure.

This treatment is particularly effective for those experiencing age-related soft tissue atrophy, where the natural depletion of collagen, elastin, and fat pads contributes to a sunken or hollow appearance in the cheeks.

By restoring volume to these areas, cheek fillers support the mid-face, improve facial proportions, and reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds while maintaining a natural, balanced look.

HOW MUCH DO I NEED?

The amount varies based on individual anatomy and desired results. Some patients see excellent results with just half a syringe per side, while others may need up to four. On average, two to three syringes are used for cheek augmentation. Rest assured, treatments are designed to be smooth and natural, with no visible lumps or bumps.

ARE CHEEK FILLERS SAFE?

When administered by a qualified practitioner, cheek fillers are safe and effective.

CHIN FILLER

Dermal fillers provide an effective solution for improving chin definition and facial balance with minimal downtime. These treatments increase chin projection, restore symmetry, and smooth dimpling, lines, and creases, resulting in a naturally rejuvenated appearance.

CHIN-RELATED CONDITIONS AMENABLE TO DERMAL FILLER TREATMENT

Chin Retraction (Retrognathia) A recessed or underdeveloped chin disrupts the proportional harmony of facial features, resulting in a less prominent and imbalanced lower facial profile.

Small Jaw (Micrognathia) characterised by an undersized jaw, results in a disproportionately small chin and lower face. This condition may arise from developmental anomalies or genetic factors.

Chin Asymmetry Disparities in chin shape or size, whether congenital or acquired, can compromise facial symmetry and aesthetic balance.

Chin Creases (Mentalis Crease) A horizontal indentation between the lower lip and chin, often due to repetitive muscular activity or age-related changes, detracts from a smooth, youthful appearance.

Age-Related Volume Loss With age, progressive depletion of soft tissue and bony support in the chin region leads to a less defined and diminished facial structure.

Post-Trauma Chin Deformities Trauma or prior surgical interventions can result in irregularities in the chin’s structure, leading to asymmetry or disruption of natural contours.

SIDE EFFECTS AND RISKS OF DERMAL FILLER

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

Mild Redness and Swelling: Temporary redness or swelling at the injection site is common and usually subsides within a few days.

Bruising: Bruising may occur but typically resolves within a week.

Tenderness or Discomfort: The treated area may feel slightly tender or sensitive for a short time.

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

Uneven Results: In rare cases, the filler may settle unevenly, requiring adjustments.

Lumps or Bumps: Small lumps can sometimes form but are often easily massaged out by the practitioner.

RARE COMPLICATIONS

Vascular Compromise: If the filler inadvertently enters or compresses a blood vessel, it may lead to restricted blood flow, potentially causing tissue damage. Prompt treatment with hyaluronidase can mitigate this risk.

Infection: As with any injectable treatment, there is a small risk of infection, which can be minimised through proper sterilisation and aftercare.

Allergic Reaction: Although rare, some individuals may experience an allergic response to the filler material.
